Mechanical Filtration

Mechanical filtration may be necessary to treat water that is contaminated with suspended material. Those materials could include sand, silt, clay, organic matter, and other particles that should not be discharged into the sewer system. This method is useful for larger particles, however, additional filters can be added to filter out very small particles in the water.

Our Solutions

Our water treatment systems include mechanical filtration systems that use sand to remove particulates as small as 25 microns. Filtration to 30 microns can be achieved with the addition of a cartridge filter. If small amounts of oil-free solids are your primary wastewater concern, we recommend:

  • In-stream oil/water separation
  • Multiple filters of various media to remove solids
  • Activated carbon to “polish” water
  • pH and OPR adjustments
  • Automated flushing of pod filters for longer life
  • 10 to 40 GPM systems
